A
mountain resort town, Mussoorie, is on the southfacing
slopes of the 2,000 mts. high Garhwal Himalayan foothills,
known as "The Queen of Hill Stations" due its
immense natural beauty, well laid gardens which are located
in the small hills around the area. After its discovery
in 1820, this hill station was developed as a summer holiday
retreat and then gradually became the center of education,
business and tourism. The major hindu pilgrimages like
Haridwar, Rishikesh are easily accessible from Mussoorie.
